This is our first AS Media Studies lesson. Our Lesson objectives are:

Film as a Business

• Film is where art meets commerce
• In western consumer society, film is a business
• It is driven by the demands of the marketplace
• For efficiency, the  process has been industrialised most successfully in Hollywood-Bollywood and to a lesser extent Britain

How do we define British Films

• Stars
• Director
• Producer
• Crew
• Post-production (SFX/Editing/Sound mixing etc.)
• Finance
• Story-cultural relevance
